Pink Floyd - Poles Apart

Did you know...it was all going to go so wrong for you
And did you see it was all going to be so right for me
Why did we tell you then
You were always the golden boy then
And that you'd never lose that fire in your eyes

Hey you...did you ever realize what you'd become
And did you see that it wasn't only me you were running from
Did you know all the time but it never bothered you anyway
Leading the blind while I stared out the steel in your eyes

The rain fell slow, down on all the roofs of uncertainty
I thought of you and the years and all the sadness fell away from me
And did you know...
I never thought that you'd lose the fire in your eyes

This happens to be one of my favorite songs!

Michael Palin ("Gumby" Guy): "My brain hurts!"

John Cleese ("Gumby" Doctor): "Well, it will have to come out!"

What fortune!!!!

I heard it for the first time driving to my folks to do laundry, i took a wrong turn and started driving down a series of back roads i had never been down before, and the lyrical guitar and the almost carnival music on the background just made the trip so much more vivid. I have to stop listening to it so often, lest i ruin it.

What other songs do you call your favorite?

I asked her again, if her love can be weighed
Against the eventual leaden repose.
Was the rope on her measure tattered and frayed?
An inaccurate scale the one that she chose?

Man, I wished I had the courage to go down some back roads, but I'm too much of a wuss. I guess that's what you get from having such overprotective parents. As to my favorite songs, they're too numerous to name.

Drop a few names if you spare the time, I'd like to branch my musical taste off and get a more well rounded sense of audio goodness. What do you listen to when you want to get in the mood to create? What song gets you energized? What song gets to you every time with the sorrowfull goodness? If you dont mind of course.

As long as you know where you've been, theres nothing to fear, however i know what you mean about protective parents... Id love to go and snap some pictures of the places down those back roads but alas, im lacking the courage or the like-minded entourage of friends to push me into going... Best thing about stuff like that though, is that its never too late to change. :)

Well, recently I've been listening to a lot of Disturbed, songs such as Down With the Sickness and The Meaning of Life. Stuff to get me through my glo0omy day. The weather where I am been rather sucky recently, and I just got over a case of bad flu, the kind where the recent vaccine doesn't work and I'm still not sure I'm medically well.
